Keys to Enriched Living In a tribute to Robinson Nicol, longtime editor of the distinguished publication British Weekly, George Jackson declared: "He flung down a bunch of keys for me to open doors for myself on every side of me." A grand thing to do for another involves challenging that person to grow by providing numerous thresholds for expanded experience. The universe does this for each of us, and gives us a myriad of options in the process. We then choose which doors to open and which ones to keep closed. Our decisions determine our destiny. Herein lie the keys to successful living. Exercising the right options does not mean spiritual roulette - we have help in our decision making. We get clues as to which keys to activate from the lives of those noble and matured souls who have gone before us. The door marked Service to Others provides more promise than the door marked Selfishness. The doors labeled Meditation, Constructive Thought, Healthy Play, and Community Involvement also shout to be entered. We also need to learn that by opening a certain door that leads to the destruction of our well being, if we choose, we can unlock a neighboring Exit door and leave. Through that threshold a path opens to self-fulfillment. Each of us has keys to all kinds of doors. The important differences in our lives come from our choosing which keys to use. A step for growth: Sit in silence for one hour, focusing on unconditional love. Affirm: "I am loved, and I love unconditionally." Dr. Fred McCoun Namasté Adventure Book Week VI Day 6 |
